In Memory...
Mar. 7th, 2008 04:35 pmA lady I knew and liked very well died today. She was the head of our local Animal Aid group, a group I have been proud to be a part of for the last few years. She had been an inspiration to all of us, working tirelessly her whole life to ease animal suffering. She was gentle, strong, passionate, kind, and one of the most determined women I have ever met!
So, I just wanted to share these words in honour of her -
Never stop being inspired by those around you. Many people work and try tirelessly to make this world a better, kinder place. They refuse to be cynical, they refuse to give up, and they refuse to stop believing, even when trial comes their way.
I have always been moved by this particular quote by Margaret Mead:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
I do believe Ursula did make change in this world, and I'm sure she will continue to now she is in spirit.
Namaste.
